                                                                            Principal Solicitor - Kieran Cox

Kieran Cox was admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in 1972 and is a member of the Eastern Solicitors Law Association and has this year been recognised with honorary membership for 50 years as a continuous practising member of the Law Institute of Victoria.

He was recently awarded the prestigious Law Institute of Victoria President's Award 2022 for Outstanding Service and Contribution over 50 years!

Kieran began his career as a sole practitioner in South Melbourne before setting his sights on establishing a 'country practice' in Mount Evelyn, at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges in greater Metropolitan Melbourne.

In 1977 the Mount Evelyn practice opened on a part-time basis but as the client base grew, so did the opening hours!

Today, the practice operates from monday - friday and continues to force the burning of the midnight candle!

Kieran appears in most Magistrates' Court's throughout Victoria and also appears in the County Court of Victoria as a criminal defence lawyer and engages Counsel with similar experience and expertise.

Kieran strives to achieve and provide to his clients a practical, professional, yet affordable representation and his preferred area of practice is in criminal law, traffic law, estate matters and in wills, succession law and planning.

He has 50 years of considerable experience in these areas, as well as in advising clients regarding intervention orders, wills, enduring powers of attorney, medical treatment decision maker appointments and in administering

deceased estates.

Associate Solicitor - Olivia Cox

In 2019 the practice evolved as a father daughter team when Olivia Cox, Kieran's eldest daughter, joined the practice

as a Solicitor.

Olivia holds the position of Associate at the practice and is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and the

Eastern Solicitors Law Association.

Olivia's background is vast.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (with various criminal majors) from La Trobe University,

completed the Juris Doctor (Masters of Law) at RMIT University and attained her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from Leo Cussen.

Olivia lived in London, in the United Kingdom for 9 years where she worked as a Graduate Negotiator before returning to Melbourne.   Prior to being admitted to practice as a Solicitor she has held various legal practice management roles.

Just like her father, Olivia also shares a love for criminal law.

She appears in most summary (and indictable) proceedings in the Magistrates' Court as a criminal defence lawyer right throughout Victoria.

She practices in criminal law, traffic law, intervention order proceedings and is also experienced and advises clients with wills, enduring powers of attorney, medical treatment decision maker appointments and in administering deceased estates, succession law and in estate planning.

Olivia brings a worldly knowledge to her role as an advocate.

She offers a refreshingly practical and common sense approach when advising her clients.
